Closing this year with an in-house training for the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) team at Sabah Electricity focusing on Utility-Scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
This programme was attended by 30 engineers drawn from the Asset Management, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), Project and Planning departments. The various backgrounds created nice opportunities for cross-functional discussions on how BESS decisions made at the design stage directly influence long-term operability and asset performance. Closer to load applications and safe operations were also points of particular interest this time.
Encouraging to see that power utilities are taking proactive steps to build internal capability as BESS becomes an integral part of future distribution networks.Thank you to the participants for the interesting discussions.
