Customized In-house Training for Sarawak Energy Berhad:  HV and EHV Power Cables – Design to Deployment, Kuching, Malaysia, 27 to 30 October 2025

27 to 30 October 2025.

It was a great pleasure to spend the past week with the Sarawak Energy Substation Engineering and Power Cable Projects teams, sharing insights and field experiences in a technical training on the topic of HV and EHV Power Cables.

This customized in-house course was attended by a total of 50 engineers. The participants contributed to discussions and practical perspectives on topics such as MIND and XLPE cable design, in-field jointing and termination practices, testing and commissioning, and tropical installation challenges. We also discussed international standards and regional guidelines, tropical installation challenges, and lessons learned from a case study from the ASEAN region. The active engagement from the participants truly made this session rewarding.

Thank you to both the Sarawak Energy and IK Academy team for the warm hospitality and the opportunity to collaborate. I look forward to seeing these learnings translated into the betterment of the regional grid infrastructure.
